The Empowerment Project Inc. VA is the nonprofit heart of The Banana Collective VA. We exist to uplift, support, educate, mentor, and restore our community - particularly our children - through love, intention and action.

Our work is rooted in the belief that every child deserves safe learning environments, emotional support, cultural recognition and opportunities that help them thrive mentally, spiritually, socially and academically.
We are not waiting for”someone else” to fix what’s broken in our systems.

Truth to Life Academy - Protection to Soar
Truth to Life Academy is the Empowerment Project5 Inc., (VA)'s education and skill-building initiatives rooted in lived experience, cultural truth and real-world learning.
Guided by the principle Protection to Soar, the Academy creates sage, affirming learning environments where individuals and families are supported, seen and equipped to grow with confidence and purpose.
Programming centers Black American history and lived experience while remaining open to all who are aligned with the values of accountability, community care and collective progress.
Through online learning, workshops and community-based education, Truth to Life Academy provides pathways for youth and adults to build knowledge, skills and self-determination that translate directly into life, leadership and creative expression.
